ALUMNI WEEKEND 2008

 Friday and Saturday, April 25th and 26th

Make plans now to be here for a weekend designed to honor our past, and shape our future.  In addition to the fun of being back on campus with your fellow alumni, the weekend includes a special chance to thank those teachers and others at NCSA who made a difference in our lives.  And, looking to the future, add your voice to the conversation about the road ahead for NCSA at a special “Town Hall Meeting.”  Here’s what’s in store:

 

Friday, April 25th

Registration in the Commons

Campus tours leaving on the hour – If you haven’t been here in a while, you’ll be amazed!

Oral history interviews – What is your favorite memory of NCSA?  Favorite performance?  Your audition?  Best class?  Hardest lesson?  Best friend?  Tell us your story and make it a permanent part of our history!

Travel

Travel by Air
Closest airports to Winston-Salem:

Greensboro - Piedmont Triad International (GSO), 25 minutes
Charlotte Douglas (CLT), 75 minutes
Raleigh-Durham (RDU), 90 minutes

NOTE: Do not fly to the Winston-Salem Airport (Smith Reynolds Airport), unless you are flying in a private plane.

Airport Shuttle
The Convention and Visitors Bureau will make an inexpensive shuttle service available from the Greensboro airport. Some Winston-Salem hotels also provide a free shuttle. You can also use EBOQ Transportation, a commercial car service, by visiting www.eboqtrans.com or calling 888-703-1115.

Travel by Car
The North Carolina School of the Arts is located at 1533 S. Main Street, Winston-Salem, about a mile south of Old Salem, a national tourist attraction. The School is accessible by Interstate 40 (which connects to Interstates 77, 85 and 95 in North Carolina) and US-52.

From the East
Traveling I-40 West from Greensboro, take Business 40 to Winston-Salem. In Winston-Salem, take the exit for US-52 South. Then take the exit for Waughtown Street. Take a right onto Waughtown, go through a small traffic circle (taking the third turn off the circle), and then go one block to reach the school's rear entrance. Follow signs for Alumni Weekend parking.

From the West
Traveling I-40 East to Winston-Salem, take Business 40 (a left merge). Continue on Bus-40 to the exit for US-52 South. Then take the exit for Waughtown Street. Take a right onto Waughtown, go through a small traffic circle (taking the third turn off the circle), and then go one block to reach the school's rear entrance. Follow signs for Alumni Weekend parking.

From the South
Traveling north on US-52, take the Sprague Street exit. Turn left on Sprague Street, go about 1/4-mile and turn right on Sunnyside Avenue. Take your 3rd right onto Haled Street, and then left onto Chapel Street. Follow signs for Alumni Weekend parking.

From the North
Traveling south on US-52, take the Waughtown Street exit. Take a right onto Waughtown, go through a small traffic circle (taking the third turn off the circle), and then go one block to reach the school's rear entrance. Follow signs for Alumni Weekend parking.
