February 1, 2008
Dear Graduating Student,
Commencement is a special event when we celebrate your achievements at the School of the Arts. It is also a time to look forward to new and exciting possibilities. As the day draws near, there are many things you will need to do in order to prepare.
NCSA holds two commencement ceremonies – both on Saturday, May 31, 2008:
- 9:00 a.m. ceremony for Graduating High School students; and
- 1:00 p.m. ceremony for Graduating College and Graduate students
Both ceremonies will be held at The Stevens Center, 405 West Fourth Street, in downtown Winston-Salem.
Commencement tickets
Everyone who is planning to attend graduation must have a ticket. High school graduates have been allocated a maximum of eight (8) tickets and college graduates a maximum of six (6) tickets for guests to attend the morning or afternoon commencement ceremony. In order to accommodate as many guests as possible at each ceremony, commencement seats will be assigned in advance.
Information on ordering tickets will be distributed to you in your campus mailbox on February 29, 2008.

You may purchase individual generic announcements from The Campus Bookstore after May 1, for a cost of $1.95 each plus tax.
Weekend of Activities
There are many activities planned for the commencement weekend. I hope that you and your families and friends will be able to participate in the festivities planned in your honor.
On Friday, May 30, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., I invite you, your family, and guests to join Mrs. Mauceri and me at the Chancellor’s Garden Party. Our graduating students enthusiastically anticipate this annual reception to celebrate their accomplishments with their families and their faculty and staff. The party will be held in Daniels Plaza, located just outside Hanes Student Commons. The Eisenberg Social Hall (located inside the Hanes Student Commons) has been designated as the rain site for this event. Although you don’t need a ticket, we ask that you confirm your attendance and number in your party by Friday, May 23 by:
A dedicated website
This website holds much more information on the most joyous celebration of the year at NCSA. You will find details about the complete commencement weekend schedule of events, order forms, rehearsal dates and times, etc., in addition to information on lodging, directions, and city information for your family and out-of-town guests. You may also call 336-770-3262 if you have additional questions. Check the website often as additional information may be posted regarding the weekend performances.
Once the festivities end, the memories last forever. We also look forward to your continued involvement as alumni. It is graduates like you who will make NCSA an even better place for generations to come. Please contact our Alumni Office at (336) 631-1203 to help us stay in touch with you.
