The School of Drama mourns the untimely passing of alumnus T. Scott Cunningham on June 20th. Scott graduated in 1984 and enjoyed a vibrant and successful career on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre, television and film. He spoke quietly and thoughtfully about being “a working actor” who proudly made a living practicing his craft at his Class Reunion on-campus in 2004. He appeared in Dean Gerald Freedman’s production of “An Enemy of the People” at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the summer of 2003. Mr. Freedman commented, “Scott was a consummate professional and a gentleman. It was an honor to work with him and I am greatly saddened by the loss of this fine actor and prestigious alumni. I know I speak for the School of Drama Faculty, Staff and Student Body, when I extend our sincerest sympathies to Scott’s parents, his partner Harry Bouvy, and the Class of 1984”.
