UNCSA students and staff may check out circulating materials with valid school IDs. Public patrons may register for a borrower’s card for $10, but are limited to borrowing three items at a time. Since the library supports a performing arts conservatory, items necessary for School performances or study may be deemed non-circulating to the general public. The Semans Library participates in Interlibrary Loan and the UNC Cooperative Borrowing programs. Interlibrary Loan is available only to students, faculty and staff with a valid UNCSA ID.

Materials may be copied in the library through the School’s one-card system only. Public patrons may request a card for the copy machines, and then pay for their copies at the main circulation desk. Copies are 10 cents per page for black and white and $1 for color copies.

Public patrons and UNC Co-op borrowers must be registered with the library in order to borrow materials. As of October 15th, 2007, public patron registration and card replacement cost $10. Registration forms will be accepted and processed Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If a potential borrower is unable to register during this time period, please call the main circulation desk at 770-3270, or contact the Head of Access Services.
