Flutist Elizabeth Ransom is known to audiences in North Carolina and the southeastern United States as a soloist and chamber musician, and she has also performed on several occasions in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France. An international prize winner of several competitions here and abroad, she is currently a member of the Winston-Salem Symphony and the Carolina Chamber Symphony. She is a member of the Bolton Woodwind Quintet which has received national and international acclaim for its innovative arts-in-education programs involving curriculum integration and has been featured on WFDD, NPR, BBC radio, and in Symphony Magazine. Ms. Ransom is on the faculties of Davidson College, Lenoir-Rhyne College and the North Carolina School of the Arts Community Music School, and she teaches at the New England Music Camp in the summers. She studied with Philip Dunigan at the North Carolina School of the Arts, with the late Severino Gazzelloni at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy and as a Fulbright scholar with Ingrid Koch at the Hamburg Hochschule fur Musik in Germany.
