Violinist Sarah Johnson tours nationally and internationally, and in the Southeast on the Southern Arts Federation and North Carolina touring programs, teaching and giving master classes in conjunction with her concertizing. She was founder/director of a successful nine-year chamber music series in Charleston, S.C., and was on the distinguished roster of Affiliate Artists for five years. A former member of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, she also was a founding concertmaster of the South Carolina Chamber Orchestra. She made her European debut at the Spoleto Festival in Italy, and in 1994 premiered a concerto by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Robert Ward. Ms. Johnson graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where she studied with Ivan Galamian, Jaime Laredo and members of the Guarneri Quartet. She also studied in New York with Erica Morini and Karl Ulrich Schnabel. Her discography includes two compact discs on the Albany label. She has served on the faculties of Duke University and Eastman School of Music.
