Students in the High School Composition Program study the technical skills necessary for music composition. You will develop a well-rounded artistic perspective. Importance is given to understand your personal voice as a composer. You’ll be expected to create a representative body of work demonstrating artistic growth.
The intimate conservatory setting provides excellent opportunities for all composition students, under the direct supervision of artist faculty members Lawrence Dillon and Kenneth Frazelle.
Students meet with the primary studio teacher for private lessons and monthly composition seminars.
Graduates of the UNCSA High School Composition Program have garnered success in commissions in addition to continuing their education at leading music schools and universities in the United States.
