Admissions

Interested singers should send a cover letter, headshot and resume by December 7, 2007, to Will Graham, director of institute planning and administration, at the address below. Applicants should indicate to which program of study they are applying (M.M. or PAC).

A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute
North Carolina School of the Arts
1533 South Main St.
Winston-Salem, NC 27127-2188

The Fletcher Institute will select a subset of all resumes submitted and invite these applicants to audition.

Audition Requirements

Five selections of contrasting style in four languages: English, French, German and Italian.
Four of the selections must be arias.
One of the selections must be representative of 20th-century style.
Arias in English must be selected from an opera written in English, not a translation.

In early January, a select group of singers will be invited to make formal application to the institute. Candidates will be informed of the institute's decisions by March 15, 2008.

Instrumentalists should contact the School of Music for admissions details.

For more information, contact Michael Rothkopf at 336-770-3254 in the School of Music.
