"The Hostage"

The School of Drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts trains talented young men and women to be exciting, versatile and accomplished professionals. Bridget Regan (class of 2004) is the star of a new action adventure series from Disney-ABC Studios, Legend of the Seeker, premiering in national syndication the weekend of Nov. 1. She plays Kahlan, a beautiful and mysterious woman who has sworn her life to protect Richard Cypher (Craig Horner), in this one-hour, weekly series executive produced by SPIDER-MAN’s Sam Raimi and the teams behind the popular Xena and Hercules.

Wesley Taylor (class of 2008) makes his off-Broadway debut in the musical Rock of Ages at New World Stages, opening Oct. 16.

Dane DeHaan (college class of 2008 and high school class of 2004), will make his Broadway debut as standby for Haley Joel Osment in the revival of David Mamet's American Buffalo at the Belasco Theater.

Julia Klein (class of 1993) was featured in the 2008-09 season opener of “Law & Order: SVU.”

Travis Smith (class of 2000) was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award for Leading Actor in a Play for his performance as Lenny in “Of Mice and Men” at the Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta. Nominees for the 2007-08 Suzi Bass Awards, which honor the best in Atlanta's professional theatre scene, were announced Sept. 8

Ciera Payton (class of 2008) is making her New York debut Sept. 25-Oct. 5 in "And My Name Aint Peaches" at the Access Theatre, 380 Broadway, and her soap debut Oct. 1 on ABC's "All My Children." She can also be seen in the movie LORDS OF THE STREETS, starring DMX and Kris Kristofferson.

Bill English (class of 2002) co-stars in the new upcoming FOX series Outnumbered.
