"The Hostage"

The School of Drama at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts trains talented young men and women to be exciting, versatile and accomplished professionals. The school emphasizes classical values in its training process to meet a well-recognized demand for actors to be technically skilled and, at the same time, creatively inspired. Neal Bledsoe (class of 2005) appears as Mitchell in Douglas Carter Beane's "The Little Dog Laughed" at Seattle's Intiman Theatre, Aug. 15 through Sept. 13.

Nicholas Galbraith (class of 2007) appears as Joe Kennedy in the first post-Broadway production of the acclaimed musical "Grey Gardens” at San Francisco Bay area's TheatreWorks, Aug. 20 through Sept. 14. Since graduating more than a year ago, Galbraith has been a busy actor, making his New York debut in the premiere of Charles Strouse's "I, and Albert" at the York Theatre, teaching in Harlem and the upper West Side through his Kenan Fellowship at the Lincoln Center Institute, “A Christmas Carol” at the famed Westport Country Playhouse, and this past spring’s “The Full Monty” at Vermont's Northern Stage. He also made his television debut as a guest on MTV's "LEGALLY BLOND: The Search for the Next Elle Woods.”

Mary-Louise Parker (class of 1986) once again has been nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of Leading Actress in a Comedy Series for Showtime's “Weeds.”

Will Rogers (class of 2004) appears in the world premiere of Ellen Melaver's “Not Waving” at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this August.
