Using the same pseudonym “Ernest”, two gentlemen living in England in the 1890s fall in love with two different women leading all four of them into a web of mistaken identities and comedic entanglement, in what is widely considered one of the towering comedies in the English language.

Celebrating the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death, we present Haydn’s infectious opera that tells the story of an astrologer and his desire to free his young love interest from her father by tricking him into thinking he has been mysteriously transported to the moon.

Maestro Ransom Wilson conducts the combined forces of the UNCSA Symphony and the UNCSA Philharmonia in  Yefgeniy Sharlat’s Nocturne for violin and orchestra (with soloist Angela Story) and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.  Also, concerto competition winner Hsin-I Huang is the piano soloist for Rachmaninov’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
