WINSTON-SALEM – Do you have the talent, discipline, drive, determination – and passion -- for a career as an artist?

If the answer is “yes,” take a look at the state’s premier public arts conservatory, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA).

The Office of Admissions at UNCSA will conduct a Fall Open House for prospective students and their families on Friday, Nov. 7. The Open House will allow prospective applicants to experience the campus for a day and discover why UNCSA is the place for talented students to train.

Professional training programs are available in the Schools of Dance, Design and Production (including a Visual Arts Program), Drama, Filmmaking, and Music at UNCSA.

Registration will start the day off, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  An Information Fair will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  A Welcome Session will be held from 1-1:45 p.m.  At 2 p.m., prospective students will be able to visit the arts school of their interest, and meet with deans, faculty members and current students. Campus tours, from 3:45-5 p.m., will conclude the Open House.

UNCSA offers programs for middle school to graduate school, depending on the particular discipline. Prospective high school students should note that the state of North Carolina now pays the full cost of attending UNCSA (tuition, fees, room and board) for all in-state students who are accepted into the high school program.

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts is the first state-supported, residential school of its kind in the nation. Established as the North Carolina School of the Arts by the N.C.
