 UNCSA TO PRESENT “TECHNOLOGY CONCERT” ON OCT. 11


WINSTON-SALEMThe University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) will present a “Technology Concert” that features new music that combines live performers and technology this coming Saturday.

The “Technology Concert” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Watson Chamber Music Hall in the UNCSA School of Music Complex, 1533 South Main St., Winston-Salem. Michael Rothkopf

Guest pianist Aleck Karis will premiere Edward Jacobs’ echoes, shadows, which was commissioned by the School of Music for this occasion.

Karis will also perform Mario Davidovsky’s Pulitizer Prize-winning Synchronisms No. 6.

In addition, the concert will feature music by Michael Rothkopf, who is serving as the UNCSA School of Music interim dean for 2008-09.

Also on the program are performances by soprano Theresa Radomski and faculty artists Igor Begelman, clarinet, and Brooks Whitehouse, cello.
