NCSA DANCE ALUMNI WINNING NATIONAL REGOGNITION
Two Dance Alumni on the Cover of National Magazines; Others Featured in Articles


WINSTON-SALEM – Alumni of the School of Dance at the North Carolina School of the Arts are winning national recognition.  

Two alumni are featured on the covers of the national magazines, while others are featured in articles in national magazines.

They include:  

  • Heather Berest of the Paul Taylor Dance Company appears on the cover of New York magazine’s Spring Fashion issue, dated Feb. 14. The cover is for a photo essay on “Fashion & Art.”
  • Gillian Murphy of American Ballet Theatre appears with Ethan Stiefel, also of ABT, on the cover of Dance Magazine’s February issue. The cover is for a story titled “Romance in Dance: Seven Personal Pas de Deux.”
  • In Dance Magazine’s January issue, Mark Dendy is cited as one of “25 to Watch” in 2005, and Paola Hartley is quoted and appears in photographs in a story “All About Ib (Andersen) and Ballet Arizona.”
  • Karola Luttringhaus and Andrea Lieske are featured in an article titled “The Wonder Women of North Carolina,” on their Alban Elved Dance Company, in the February issue of Dance Spirit magazine.
  • Gregory Sample is featured in an article titled “Dance Education: Opposites Attracted” in the February issue of Dancer magazine. Sample dances in Celine Dion’s “A New Day…” at Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas.
