TIP-OFF Feb. 22, 2005 NCSA FILM “SURRENDERING IN A CHAMPION’S WORLD” TO PLAY AT BERMUDA IFF, ONLINE AT CINEQUEST
WINSTON-SALEM – The North Carolina School of the Arts film SURRENDERING IN A CHAMPION’S WORLD has been accepted by the Bermuda International Film Festival, which will be held March 18-24. The film will be screened in theatres there on March 18 and 20. For more information, visit www.bermudafilmfest.com. SURRENDERING will also be online with the Cinequest Online Film Festival, March 2-13. For more information, visit www.cinequestonline.org. Most recently, the film was screened at the Santa Fe Film Festival in December 2004. A visual exploration of narcissism and competition in contemporary culture, SURRENDERING IN A CHAMPION’S WORLD is a film of an original dance choreographed by NCSA School of Dance faculty member Trish Casey. Casey and School of Filmmaking faculty member Arledge Armenaki were co-directors; Armenaki was also the film’s director of photography. The project was a collaborative effort among the faculty, staff and students of the Schools of Dance, Design and Production, and Filmmaking at the North Carolina School of the Arts. ###
