TIP-OFF Jan. 25, 2005 NCSA ALUMNI WORKED ON THREE OSCAR-NOMINATED FILMS |

WINSTON-SALEM – Two North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking alumni worked on three Academy Award-nominated films. Kevin Hickman was assistant editor on COLLATERAL, which was nominated for Best Film Editing. Hickman was also on the editing team for SEABISCUIT, which was nominated for Best Film Editing last year. Will Files was assistant sound editor on THE POLAR EXPRESS and THE INCREDIBLES, both nominated for Best Sound and Best Sound Mixing. Kevin Hickman received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film editing and sound from the NCSA School of Filmmaking in 1999. Will Files received a College Arts Diploma in film editing and sound from the NCSA School of Filmmaking in 2002. The School of Filmmaking at the North Carolina School of the Arts offers a four-year, conservatory program culminating in the Bachelor of Fine Arts or College Arts Diploma. Filmmakers may concentrate on screenwriting, directing, producing, editing and sound, cinematography or production design. The school also offers a Master of Fine Arts in film music composition. The 2005 Academy Awards will be held on Feb. 27. ###
