FILM PRODUCTION DESIGNER CHARLES ROSEN
TO VISIT NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF THE ARTS
To Talk With, Screen BROADCAST NEWS for Students
in the School of Filmmaking
 


WINSTON-SALEM – Film production designer and art director Charles Rosen, with such films as BROADCAST NEWS, TAXI DRIVER and CHARLY to his credit, will be a guest artist at the North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking. 

Rosen will meet with students in the film art department and will answer questions after the screening of BROADCAST NEWS (for students) on Friday, Oct. 7.  

His films as production designer and/or art director include WHO IS CLETIS TOUT (2001), LEGALESE (1998), THE BUTCHER’S WIFE (1991), MY STEPMOTHER IS AN ALIEN (1988), BROADCAST NEWS (1987), FLASHDANCE (1983), INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1978), TAXI DRIVER (1976), CHARLY (1968) and THE PRODUCERS (1968). 

He received an Emmy nomination for WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, a 1997 TV movie about a pro football team ownership struggle. 

He also designed what might be the most familiar thoroughfares in the world: "Sesame Street."

Film production design is one of six undergraduate concentrations in the NCSA School of Filmmaking, where students in the sequence learn to collaborate with directors and cinematographers, budget the art department, and maintain the artistic overview of the design process on a motion picture or TV series.
