Suzanne Hilser-Wiles

Suzanne Hilser-Wiles is the Chief Advancement Officer for the North Carolina School of the Arts. Prior to coming to NCSA, she served as Director of External Affairs for CancerCare, a New York-based national nonprofit dedicated to providing free, professional support services to anyone affected with cancer. There she supervised all fund raising, marketing and communications for the organization. Ms. Hilser-Wiles also served as the Senior Development Officer for Corporate Programs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Before that, she worked in the individual giving and membership programs of The Museum of Modern Art in New York. Ms. Hilser-Wiles has a B.A. in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Arts Administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Her husband, Brannon Wiles, is a theatrical general manager and producer who has managed productions both on and off Broadway.  They have one daughter, Dalton Caroline Wiles, who will be a second-grader at Whitaker Elementary School.

The Chief Advancement Officer oversees fund raising (development), communications and marketing, and alumni. The CAO is also the principle liaison to the North Carolina School of the Arts Foundation, Inc., an independently governed nonprofit that invests and manages private gifts to NCSA. The CAO coordinates communications regarding acceptance, investment, and use of private donations to NCSA with the controller of the Foundation, who reports directly to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.
